Sera Town Full Time ALT Position

Source: Hiroshima Prefecture
This opening is for a full-time position as an assistant language teacher (ALT) in Sera Town, Hiroshima Prefecture starting as soon as possible, with the contract finishing on March 31, 2021.
The placement will be in elementary and junior high schools in Sera Town where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, cultural festivals, and speech contest preparation.
Additionally, twice a month you will serve as a facilitator of English conversation courses for local residents of Sera Town.

Position Requirements
Be a native speaker of English
Attained a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an English-speaking country
Are presently residing in Japan with a valid work visa
Able to speak conversational Japanese
Have a strong desire to be involved in the local community

About Sera Town
Sera is a town located in Sera District, Hiroshima Prefecture Japan. On October 1, 2004, the towns of Kozan and Seranishi, both from Sera District, were merged into the expanded town of Sera.
As of the merger but with 2003 population data, the town has an estimated population of 19,213 and a density of 69.04 persons per km². The total (expanded) area is 278.29 km². It is a major producer of agricultural products such as matsutake mushrooms, pears, tomatoes, and rice.
